Environmental Pollution is one of the most challenging problems facing the international community; and has clear and known impacts on human health and natural ecosystems. Understanding and managing environmental relationships associated with economic development, population growth, ecology and human health requires inter-disciplinary interactions and co-operation among social, physical and life scientists. The international symposium on environmental pollution, ecology and human health (EPEHH-2009) aims to bring together engineers, scientists, students, managers and other professionals from different countries, involved in various aspects of environmental science and technology, to exchange and share their experience, new ideas, research results and latest developments in all aspects related to environmental pollution and impact on ecology and human health.

United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) is the world’s premier regulatory agency for implementing environmental laws. EPA sets national standards, enforce regulations, and identify and try to solve environmental problems. Also shares information with other countries, private sector organizations, academic institutions, and other agencies to achieve overall mission: of protecting human health and the environment.

Savannah State University (SSU), founded in 1890, is one of the oldest public historically black universities in USA. SSU and SVU entered into a MOU in for the exchange visits of faculty and students and academic collaborations of mutual interest.

Defence Research & Development Establishment (DRDE) is an Indian defense research laboratory of the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO). Located in Gwalior, it is primarily involved in the research related to detection and protection against toxic chemicals and biological agents.

* Scientists from the above collaborating institutions are taking active part in the symposium

The ISEPEHH-2009 will be held at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. Tirupati is the most favorite destinations for pilgrims and tourists in India. and is well connected by air, bus and train from different major cities of India. For international passengers, access to Tirupati is possible by plane via Delhi or Hyderabad. Tirupati is 135 kms from Chennai and 250 kms from Bangalore. Prepaid Taxis are available from Chennai airport.

Sri Venkateswara University, the host institution for ISEPEHH-2009 was established in 1954 in a 1200acre sprawling campus at the foot of Seven Hills of Lord Sri Venkateswara. This University is well known nationally and internationally for academic and research excellence.

The following is a selection of topics for which the Scientific and Programme Committee is particularly seeking contributions. However, contributions for any topic in the field of Environmental Science will be considered. The symposium will have invited lectures, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and oral and poster presentations

The rate of development of the Indian economy and the growing need for transport, manufactured goods and services brings new pressures on the government to regulate air pollution. The unprecedented rate of industrial and automobile pollution in India requires strict regulatory measures. The proposed interactive session will provide a common platform for environmental engineers, administrative officials, scientists, medical doctors, industrialists and community representatives to discuss the current scenario on various legal, administrative and health issues of environmental pollution in India, and to suggest solutions and policies to be adopted.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations must be no longer than 300 words (including title, authors and affiliations) and should reflect one of the themes of the conference. Abstracts should be submitted by 15 May, 2009 in electronic form as an email attachment to: or

A separate hard copy is also preferred. The acceptance or otherwise will be communicated to authors within two weeks of submission. An official letter of invitation will be sent to foreign delegates for obtaining visa to attend ISEPEHH-2009.
